Following workshops with young and adult offenders to develop storylines exploring gangs and gangsterism, Rideout completed a tour of SAY GOODNIGHT TO THE BAD GUY, a show for prisons and community venues, across the West Midlands in 2008. The show was written by Chris Johnston with music composed by Rex Horan and played live by the band.
Nathan comes out of prison to find his community still buzzing about the death of his cousin. No one has yet been charged with the murder, and the police don't appear to have any key suspects. It's possible individuals within the community know the individual responsible, but who will talk? In this climate, Nathan gets drawn into attempts to revenge his cousin's death.
Say Goodnight to the Bad Guy was a play about gangs, guns and the impulse for revenge.
