The company directors, Saul Hewish and Chris Johnston, have been working in institutional contexts over many years. These include prisons, young offender institutions, hostels, conferences and pupil referral units. There is currently a special emphasis within the work on creating programmes for those with learning difficulties. Supported by a range of freelance artists working in music, dance and literature, they are able to offer bespoke one-off workshop projects with a choice of different points of focus:
- Recreation using play and improvisation
- Offence-focussed drawing on personal histories
- Developing social skills through roleplay and exercises
- Talent development using a range of films, games & exercises
This process can be extended into longer programmes such as:
MAKING A SHOW - working with prisoners or groups over one, two or more weeks to generate a theatre show for an audience
BEHAVIOURAL PROGRAMMES - these take a focus such as Anger, Alcohol or Addiction. They run over several days and involve tailoring particular challenges to each individual on the course
TALENT 4 - developed in response to prisoners feeling 'at a loss' about their future direction, this programme received European Funding and was developed in tandem with six European partners. More information here:
